Shifting our outlook on the foods we eat and counteracting mood swings.

by Chrislyn Pettus

We’ve all dabbled somewhere on the emotional spectrum of feelings such as brain fog, anxiety, depression or simply not feeling our best. This blog we will shed light on helpful ways to rise above these human experiences.

If you’ve ever struggled with changing your eating habits try this perspective:

“Feed your body with foods based on how you want to feel emotionally, physically and mentally later.”

By doing so, you’re now exchanging negative habits with lighter emotions and healthier eating habits. This quote may sounds cliché but there’s truth in “you are what you eat (put into your body)”. Food has a real psychological effect on how we operate more than we think.

Example, If you eat chips and drink soft drink’s regularly then you should know it could potentially trigger a sluggish mentality and depression.

Foods high in sugars, sodium and processed with food additives and coloring such as Red 40, Yellow 5, Yellow 6, aspartame and monosodium glutamate (MSG) actually feed mood disorders like anxiety and depression.

Now no one said making healthier choices would be easy especially when every corner storer you enter has millions of the wrong snacks, and every street corner has 5 fast food restaurants.

but like I mentioned before…How do you want to feel later on in the future?

It gets easier when we look at food in color! 🎨 Colors hold and are energy. “😁😢🤪🥰😏😭😡”

And What are we made up of?
E N E R G Y…therefore if you add more colors (produce) to your food intake you’ll obtain more ENERGY.

Side-note🥴: More serotonin = happier thoughts, hormones, and emotions.

How do we naturally obtain more dopamines, serotonins and endorphins?

By adding color ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜💖 to our lives and doing things we actually enjoy.

So let’s break down color!

Food (fruits and veggies) in color:
🔴 = amazing source of vitamins, and are rich in antioxidants.
🟠 = building immunity, healthier reproductive systems, skin and eye cells.
